Lately, we hear a lot about intermittent fasting, but in the end, are we really aware of what fasting really is?

Intermittent fasting is actually only one way of fasting among many more. 

Fasting is a very good way to purify your body and help your metabolism to fight against overconsumption. It is a fact: thanks to our current society, we are eating more than we should and it has become a habit for our body. 

After eating a meal, your metabolism is working on what is called digestion and this process takes a lot of energy for your body, which means that when your body is digesting it is not able to focus on another task. 

Fasting is a way to relax and put your body at rest so it can function in harmony. Many women are fasting to lose weight but it can be very dangerous for your health and it can lead to a dangerous eating disorder like anorexia

Fasting is a process that should be strictly prepared beforehand.

The process can be divided into three phases: before, during and after. 

The “Before phase” is the preparation phase. The best is to keep a record of your process, Then, it is mandatory to strictly plan each meal of this “before phase” which lasts about 5 days. The purpose of this phase is to prepare your body for the fasting, so you need to eat rich, balanced meal in order to get the most vitamins, minerals, energy out of your meal. Vegetables and fruits are your best friends for this phase.

The “During phase” is the fasting phase. As you provided good nutrients to your body, you should be in great shape. It is better to start the fast on a weekend. Your body will start to purify itself thanks to the nutrients. However, it is possible to have some light meals, like low sugar fruits, vegetable bouillon, fresh juices or herbal tea. This will help to keep your body hydrated and keep your vitamins well-balanced. Don’t forget to drink water!

The “After phase” is the moment you break your fast. The first meal you’ll have after your fasting is a key meal, so don’t take it lightly. Your body will assimilate the first nutrients faster than the other, avoiding anything sugar-based would be better. 

The easiest would be something easy to digest as a soup with seasonal and rich vegetables to get the most benefits of them.
